Hyungin Choi is a motion designer and creative technologist based on NYC. She studied at ITP (Interactive Telecommunications Program) at New York University, earning an MFA in interaction design, and holds a BFA in industrial design at Hongik University, Seoul, Korea. Her background includes motion design, UX/UI design, game design, and art direction, excelling in brand image reinforcement, visual storytelling, and aesthetic approaches in the fields of TV, VFX, and exhibition. She has researched experiential content utilizing multi-sensory interfaces, focusing on interactive campaign events.
Her interests lie in finding novel ways of communication and interaction using different media and technologies. She has explored storytelling and user experience through experimental projects, intertwining different media such as VR, 3D games, and hypertext games to create innovative experiences between players. She is also interested in multi-sensory approaches, such as translating text to music tones using sentiment models. Creating experiences between people through interaction underlies her work, whether by setting elements that affect each other or by requiring cooperative activities. She enjoys weaving various technologies and communication methods, seeking to create new interactions that match the character of the technology in a novel way. She delights in breaking away from clichés and creating unexpected experiences. Her passion for interactive storytelling is based on leveraging the characteristics of new technologies to create pleasant experiences between people with whimsical and fun ideas.
