CONTEXT & PURPOSE
At CES, Coway unveiled its latest innovations in water purifiers, air purifiers, and mattresses—all designed to support personalized healthcare for consumers. The brand videos were created to convey how these products, combined with customized care services, provide meaningful value tailored to individual lifestyles. By visualizing how Coway collects and analyzes regional differences in water quality, air conditions, and personal sleep patterns, the videos effectively communicate the development process behind Coway’s personalized solutions.

DESIGN APPROACH

- Understanding the fast-paced and noisy environment of CES, the videos were designed to deliver an intuitive and emotional experience—without narration or on-screen text. Instead, clear, sensory-driven visuals created immediate emotional resonance.

- Sophisticated motion graphics for data-driven infographics played a key role in conveying complex information at a glance, effectively illustrating how Coway tailors its solutions to diverse individuals and regional conditions.

- These visual strategies ensured instant comprehension and engagement, even within the distraction-heavy exhibition setting.

IDEATION & CONCEPTUALIZATION
A simple plain circle was pitched as a symbol of both wholeness and the most basic form and centered on life’s essentials: air, water, and sleep. Inspired by Coway’s identity as a purifier of particles, the circle was developed as a core visual motif, representing purity, balance, and completeness. It became the structural base for all visual elements, reinforcing a feeling of clarity, freshness, and lightness.

VISUAL CONCEPT  DEVELOPMENT
The visual design centered on A Simple Plain Circle, solid-colored, representing untainted, pure elements
The simplicity of the circle reinforces the idea of essential particles, unclouded by complexity—clean, complete, and harmonious.

Sky Blue
for water care
—echoing Coway’s foundational strength in water purification.

Pastel Mint for air care
—reflecting freshness and an airy lightness.

Periwinkle Blue for sleep care
—invoking a sense of calm and night.

The overall visual tone was designed to feel clean, and refreshing, echoing Coway’s brand image of purifying everyday environments. With light-filled, bright images of people, the visuals aimed to evoke the feeling that Coway’s products and services make our lives lighter, cleaner, and more invigorated.

MOTION BRANDING
- The motion language was developed to feel light, fresh, and delicate—reflecting Coway’s promise of a cleaner, more breathable life.

- Data-driven visuals were animated with subtle, detailed motion graphics, crafted to feel elegant and seamless, featuring thin typography and breath-like movements.

- These stylistic choices ensured that the brand’s values—cleanliness, care, and innovation—were consistently conveyed on an emotional and sensory level.

INFOGRAPHIC DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS & STORYTELLING
The storyboard began with the simplest concept: zooming in on a single particle, symbolizing Coway’s deep attention to air and water at the most microscopic level.

From there, the journey unfolds—showing how data is analyzed, interpreted, and integrated into daily life to enhance our well-being. Circles scale infinitely in and out, transforming into countless particle-like forms, representing both the micro-level care Coway offers and the expansive impact it has on individuals.

This visual storytelling approach helps audiences intuitively understand what Coway delivers: a personalized, meaningful transformation in quality of life.

PRODUCTION  TIMELINE
The final deliverables included three 2.5-minute videos, each designed and produced by a team of two senior-level motion graphic designers.
Before production, we spent six weeks in close collaboration with the client, holding 3–4 strategic meetings to explore the content, define the visual direction, and finalize the design based on the conceptual foundation laid during planning.

The six-week production phase followed a structured timeline:

  • Week 2: First progress check-in and sharing of the initial look,

  • Week 3: First full version presented for review,

  • Week 4: Second version with revisions and refined data accuracy,

  • Week 5: Third version after final feedback loop,

  • Week 6: Final delivery, one week prior to the CES showcase.

This organized and iterative workflow ensured that the videos were visually compelling, on-message, and technically precise—ready to engage audiences on the global CES stage.
